Family and friends held a visitation on Monday for a Madison County teenager killed in a wreck.
Erin Clark, 16, died early Saturday morning on Poplar Ridge Road in New Hope. Clark and two of her friends were driving when the car went off the road and struck a utility pole. The other two teens were airlifted to Huntsville Hospital.
Extra counselors will be available at New Hope High School, which Clark attended, in order to help students with this loss.
Friends said Erin was just a happy-go-lucky 16-year-old girl who brought a little something extra to New Hope High School. She was on the softball team, and they had just had a game Friday night. After they won, the team all went out to McDonald's to celebrate. That was the last time her teammate, Hannah Hill, saw her.
Hill said, "She was always happy. She would always compliment people and tell them how pretty they were and what a good job they were doing. I just know that when you go back, it's just going to be awkward without her being there."
Visitation for Erin Clark is Monday evening at New Hope Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The funeral is Tuesday at Owens Cross Roads Church of Christ at 1 p.m.
