Police respond to robbery at north Huntsville restaurant

Huntsville police were on the scene of a robbery Sunday night. Huntsville police were on the scene of a robbery Sunday night.
HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Huntsville police responded to an armed robbery on North Memorial Parkway on Sunday night.

Officers responded to a Captain D's around 10:50 p.m. in reference to a robbery call. The manager of the store told police that she was walking out of the store for the night when two armed robbers made her and an employee go back inside the restaurant.

Police said the unknown robbers locked the two employees in the back and took an undisclosed amount of cash and both employees' cell phones.

The manager couldn't tell officers which direction the robbers fled in. No one has been arrested yet.

    A two-vehicle crash Saturday claimed two lives.  Don Grissom Kimbrough, 63, of Tuscumbia, was killed when the 2015 Volkswagen he was driving collided with a 2003 Chevrolet driven by Philip Lee Pounders, 62, also of Tuscumbia.
