HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Huntsville Police said Friday that the early-morning robbery of boxes of pharmaceuticals was an inside job.

27-year-old Royale Barbee is charged with first-degree robbery. Police said Barbee is an employee of Qualitest, a drug manufacturing plant.

Huntsville Police said a door was left open at the plant that allowed several men to enter and rob the facility. It is unclear if Barbee is the person who left that door open.

Investigators said the robbers entered the building around 3:45 a.m. and took several boxes of medication. They have not released details about the type, quantity, or value of the drugs taken, nor the number of robbers involved.

Qualitest management said their Huntsville plant is constantly reviewing security measures.

"We do have extensive security measures that are in place at the facility itself. That includes both individuals and devices that monitor, on an ongoing basis, all aspects of the facility," said Blaine Davis of Qualitest.
