HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A local non-profit organization is making it easier for people in wheelchairs to get around town.

Phoenix, along with A-Plus Cab Company, and the city of Huntsville will unveil the city's first wheelchair accessible taxi cabs.

Organizers say this will allow physically-challenged people to get around at nights and weekends.

Phoenix CEO Bryan Dodson said, "People who live their lives in motorized wheelchairs who don't personally have an automobile, will be able to go out and do something they haven't been able to do."

Phoenix plans to launch the new cab on Wednesday, Oct. 30.
