MARSHALL COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

The crossing where a train collided with an 18-wheeler Thursday morning is listed as the third most dangerous one in Albertville, and the third most dangerous in all of Marshall County.

Investigators said the wreck happened around 1:30 a.m. on Railroad Avenue at Highway 431. According to our research, more than 29,000 cars per day travel over it.

It is equipped with lights, but not crossing arms, and trains have to slow down to 25mph when they approach. It has been the scene of at least one other crash in the last five years.

The number one most dangerous crossing in Marshall Co. is Emory Avenue in Boaz. Number two is Wagner Drive in Albertville, followed by the site of Thursday morning's wreck - 431. Number four is Pine Street in Albertville, and the fifth, West McKinney Avenue, also in Albertville.
