LOWNDES CO., AL (WSFA) -

A jury has returned a not guilty verdict for the suspect charged in connection to a 2012 Hope Hull murder case.

Brandon DeMonte Rudolph of Letohatchee was arrested and charged on the same day as the May 27, 2012 homicide of Fort Deposit resident Willie Earl Scott.

The murder happened in Hope Hull.

The Alabama Bureau of Investigation was asked to investigate the crime as Rudolph was placed in the Lowndes County Jail.

More than a year after the murder, a jury said Rudolph was not guilty of murder and not guilty of manslaughter in connection to Scott's death.
