Driver hurt when train slams into 18-wheeler

ALBERTVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A train and an 18-wheeler crashed in Albertville early Thursday morning.

Investigators said the wreck happened around 1:30 a.m. on Railroad Avenue at Highway 431.

An ambulance took the driver of the 18-wheeler to the hospital.

The truck involved was a Wayne Farms truck out of Guntersville.

Southbound lanes of Highway 431 were blocked as emergency crews worked to clear the scene. All lanes were back open for traffic shortly after 6 a.m. 

No word yet on how badly the driver was injured.
