ADOC issues escape notice for Decatur inmate

The Alabama Department of Corrections is issuing an escape notice for inmate Cody Wade Snelling who disappeared from the Decatur Community Based Facility. All appropriate law enforcement agencies were notified at the time of the escape.

Snelling, 22, was placed on escape status around noon after he could not be located during an institutional count. Snelling is classified as a community custody inmate and is allowed employment outside the facility. It was determined that Snelling failed to return from his place of employment. 

Snelling is a white male, 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighing 200 pounds, with brown hair, and blue eyes. He has a "256" tattoo on one side of his face and two tears on the otherside.

He is sentenced out of Calhoun County on April 11, 2013, and is serving a 2 year sentence for burglary. Snelling's expiration of sentence date is November 15, 2013.

    The Guntersville Police Department have released news details on a double shooting late Friday afternoon that left one man dead.

    The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m., when police from multiple law enforcement agencies responded to a 911 call reporting two people had been shot on Edmonds Road.
