Today, the Athens City Schools Superintendent will announce plans to upgrade and improve the district's schools.
There is some good news for drivers. Their pain at the pump could soon be decreased.
According to AAA, we could see our lowest prices in three years.
"There is a good chance I think we can go down below $3.00 a gallon in Alabama," said Clay Ingram, spokesperson for AAA Alabama.
According to Ingram oil dropping below $100 per barrel is a big reason for the gas decrease. Plus this time of year, consumers simply don't buy as much fuel.
"After the vacation season, we typically see our demand drop. Normally, we'll see our prices drop right along with it," said Ingram.
Ingram believes the gas prices will rise in the summer months, but can't say by how much. As for now, consumers can look forward to saving more and spending less at the pump.
