HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - When it comes to help and resources for victims of sexual abuse, we wanted to see what services are available.
Crisis Services for North Alabama's call center serves Madison, Morgan, Limestone and Jackson Counties 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They can point you in the right direction every time.
There are forensic nurse examiners who collect evidence that serve Madison and Jackson Counties.
There is also a 211 hotline where you can ask questions about anything from domestic violence to suicide that serves counties all the way to the Georgia state line.
When it comes to the rape of a child, Crisis Services also conducts exams, but for further counseling, the National Child Advocacy Center handles those cases.
CSNA is always in need of volunteers to keep up with the thousands of phone calls they receive.
"A lot of what we do involves the telephone, so we need people who are willing to do that and most importantly get involved in someone's life," said Bill Farris with CSNA.
Crisis Services can also be accessed by calling 211.
