BEST robotics competition to be Oct. 26

The BEST robotics competition will be held on Oct. 26 in Calhoun Community College's Kelley Gym in Decatur.

Thirteen schools will compete to win the Tennessee Valley BEST (Boosting Engineering Science and Technology) award. Teams were given kits and two months to design a machine that could accomplish specific tasks in three minutes.

Area schools  participating are the Academy for Science and Foreign Language (Huntsville); Athens Bible School (Athens); Bob Jones High School (Madison); Decatur/Austin High Schools (Decatur); Decatur Heritage Christian Academy (Decatur); Grissom High School (Huntsville); Lincoln County High School Design Drafting Program (Fayetteville, TN); Lindsay Lane Christian Academy (Athens); New Century Technology High School (Huntsville); Randolph High School (Huntsville); Riverside Christian Academy (Fayetteville, TN); Sparkman High School (Madison); St. Peter's Academy (Huntsville); and Way Home Christian School (Huntsville).
