The Seventh Annual Athens Storytelling Festival will include local talent in a special session on Oct. 22.

At 7 p.m., six local storytellers will entertain the crowd in a big tent on the east side of the Limestone County Courthouse Square.

Attorney Shane Black, Sheriff Mike Blakely, former high school coach Jerry Todd, local humorist Charlie Hughes, local actor and teller Frank Travis and Representative Dan Williams will all be telling tales to kick off the yearly event.

Tickets for the festival are $5 for adults and $2.50 for children under twelve years of age. These tickets may be purchased at the Athens Shop of Athens State's Center for Lifelong Learning at 121 North Marion Street.

The festival will pick up again on Oct. 24 at 7:15 a.m. with the Storytelling Olio, which will feature nationally known storytellers. Telling starts at 10 a.m. and runs through 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 25 and lasts from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Oct. 26.
