A woman is dead and her son has been arrested after a domestic dispute, according to Baton Rouge Police.

Investigators say they were called to the Turn Plaza apartment complex on North St. just before 2 p.m. Thursday.

According to reports, Broderick Patterson, 29, called a relative and told her he had just killed his mother, Luethel Patterson, 52.

Luethel Patterson was found on the floor of the apartment with multiple stab wounds.

Broderick Patterson was arrested and charged with second degree murder.

Elizabeth Patterson, a woman who identified herself as the victim's niece and cousin of Patterson, says he was living with his mother at the apartment.

"I don't know what happened with him," said Elizabeth Patterson.  "I don't know what's going on, I know he lost his job and he was kind of depressed about that.  I don't know."

She added that Patterson was helping his mother with groceries and bills.

    Saturday, March 25 2017 5:50 PM EDT2017-03-25 21:50:37 GMT

Showers and storms will be ongoing across the Valley this evening. The most widespread rain will be over northeastern AL, but additional scattered storms will track into the Shoals from the west. That round of stormy weather will head east with time and should be out of the Valley after midnight. The threat for severe storms is low, but a few strong storms are possible.
