MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

A Madison County health inspector handed the Best Wings on Meridian Street in Huntsville an 83.

The inspector reported chicken wings were held between 25 to 35 degrees below the minimum temperature required to prevent bacterial growth in hot-holding foods. The inspector also reported raw chicken was being thawed in standing water and was more than 20 degrees above the required maximum cold-holding food temperature.

Best Wings also lost points because turkey sausage was held 25 degrees too warm and egg whites were 19 degrees above temperature.

Taqueria El Cazador in Huntsville scored an 80. The inspector reported a worker was eating at the same table where he was slicing carrots. They also lost points because cold-holding shrimp was held too warm, and because stew was held more than 20 degrees below the required minimum hot-holding temperature.

The Marshall County Health Department handed the McDonald's in Albertville an 83. The inspector reported broken wires on fry vat skimmers, and that the inside of the ice machine needed cleaned.

The Akshar Discount Food Mart in Douglas scored a 76. The inspector reported that the inside of the ice maker and a flour sifter needed cleaned, and that chicken fingers were held ten degrees below temperature.

Mimi's Country Tearoom in Grant is off of the Marshall County Health Department's reinspection schedule after improving by seven points with a 90 during their reinspection
