LSU apologizes for game day traffic problems

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

The LSU Athletic Department is working to improve the game day experience for fans.

Athletic Director Joe Alleva said in an email that there have been parking and traffic problems this season, which has seen thousands of empty seats in Tiger Stadium, even though tickets were sold.

Alleva says before the season began, the athletic department hired a traffic consulting group to evaluate the current traffic plan.  He added that the school relies heavily on local law enforcement to create a smooth traffic flow before and after games.

Since last year, LSU has lost about 2,000 parking spaces because of various construction projects.

Alleva encouraged fans to carpool to Tiger Stadium.
