GUNTERSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Joey Masters, Marshall County's embattled revenue commissioner, has been ordered by a judge to give a deposition in his civil trial.

The judge handed down the order on Tuesday. Attempts by defense attorneys to stay the case were not successful.

Kenneth Downs is suing Masters over allegedly giving property tax breaks to wealthy political supporters. That deposition is expected to take place by the end of the month.
