HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Look closely at this picture. Is there anything missing? How about street signs? They were there, but then they disappeared.
"According to my neighbor, some college kids, some college-age kids showed up and tried to take the sign off, the Emily Circle sign off the top," said homeowner Kevin Kennedy. The homeowner on the corner scared them off, but another group came back a few weeks later and ripped the street sign out of the ground.
"And the yield sign, too," said Kennedy. "That was my concern for using the See, Click, Fix. My son is just now driving, and I'm trying to get him to watch for signs and without that sign, I was a little concerned."
Kennedy snapped that picture of the corner and sent it to us through See, Click, Fix. The City of Huntsville picked up the information and sent a crew out. Now, a new yield sign stands where the old one did.
"It was probably about two or three weeks, a little longer than I thought it would," said Kennedy. "But I'm not complaining."
The city ordered the new street sign for Emily Circle. It should arrive in the next few weeks.
"The name is Emily, so maybe somebody wanted the sign for someone's name," said Kennedy. "But no, that's strange. No other signs have disappeared around here, so I don't know. I've never seen that before."
