One man dead and woman injured in Brookhaven shooting

BROOKHAVEN, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Brookhaven Police were on scene of a fatal shooting Sunday.

Brookhaven Police Chief Bobby Bell identified the victim as 24-year-old Darion Reese.

A woman, whose name was not released, was also injured.

The incident happened around 1:30 on Martin Luther King Drive, formerly Hamilton Street.

Reese collapse on the ground at a nearby home.

Investigators said three people were involved in the shooting, including the victim.

Chief Bell said the woman was struck in the arm by cross fire. She was transported to UMC.

Police are looking for two suspects in this case.

Reese and the two exchanged gunfire before he was killed.

This is the first murder in Brookhaven this year.
