GUNTERSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - The Marshall Medical Center is asking you to support the fight against breast cancer! The fourth annual Pink Pumpkin Run will be held on Oct. 26 in Guntersville.
There will be several courses of different difficulties for participants to run or walk. The 5K walk/run and the 10K run courses are mostly flat with slight inclines and go by Lake Guntersville for part of the run. There will also be a One Mile Fun Run. Race day registration will start at 7 a.m. and a Pink Pancake Breakfast will be held at 10:30 a.m.
If you don't want to run or walk, but still want to support this event, sponsorships are available. Benefits for sponsors range in level, but include free race registrations, a name feature on the popular run shirts, names and logos in all promotional items for the event, recognition on the Marshall Medical Centers' website, and more! Funds raised during this event will mainly benefit the Mammography Assistance Program (MAP) at Marshall Medical Center North and South. Through MAP, assistance will be offered to women who cannot afford yearly mammograms. Funds raised during this event will also benefit the new Marshall Cancer Care Center, which serves cancer patients in Marshall County.
Participants can also run in honor of loved ones who have fought against cancer. More information on this can be found in the registration form.
