Jeremy Johnson threw for 201 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 1 interception as Auburn blasted Western Carolina 62-3 in front of 84,171 fans at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
Johnson, a true freshman from Montgomery got the start in place of starting QB Nick Marshall who nursed a minor knee injury. Johnson led the Auburn Tigers to a 42-3 halftime lead. He would produce a touchdown throw to Quan Bray in the 3rd Quarter before leaving the game.
Auburn's Cameron Artis-Payne and Tre Mason rushed for 133 yards and 100 yards respectively, and combined for three scores.
The Tigers amassed 712 yards of total offense which is a new school record. Auburn will travel to face Texas A&M next Saturday. kickoff set for 2:30 CT.
