SELMA, AL (WSFA) -

A man is facing charges after Selma police say he shot his cousin after a fight over a woman during a game of dominoes.

Police responded to the 2500 block of Ethridge Avenue around 5:15 Wednesday night and found a man in his fifties on the sidewalk bleeding from his face and back.

Police say Cedric Carl Murray, 57, and the victim were drinking and playing dominoes when they started talking about the time when they both lived in Detroit, MI. The conversation escalated into a physical altercation after the two started talking about having a relationship with the same woman.

Police say Murray left the scene with his nephew, 35-year-old Quovidis Britton, and returned with a shotgun. They say Murray fired four shots at the victim as he attempted to flee.

The victim was transported to Vaughan Regional Medical Center and is in stable condition, according to police.

Police say Murray and Britton turned themselves in to officers at the police department after the shooting. Murray was charged with attempted murder and is being held on $100,000 bond.

Britton hasn't been charged.

Investigators recovered the weapon in the 3200 block of Magazine Avenue.
