AUBURN, AL (WSFA) -

A lawsuit filed against the city of Auburn by a former police officer is being moved to federal court. The case was moved after city attorneys requested the relocation.

Former police officer Justin Hanners claims he was fired from his job after bringing forward allegations of a ticket quota policy. Both the city and police department deny the allegations.

Hanner's attorney says the change of courts should allow for the case to go before a jury sooner.
