Sumter Co. family celebrates 110th reunion

Posted: Updated:

Family members in Sumter County reunited Sunday to celebrate a long standing tradition.

Over 200 people were in town for the annual Pryor family reunion in Leslie. This is their 110th anniversary. The reunion started in the early 1900s as a wedding anniversary for a Civil War officer. The family has carried on the tradition as a family reunion ever since.

"It certainly makes me proud. I started coming to this when I was just three or four years old," said Charlie Adams.

"It is really nice. It's good to be here. You only see a lot of this people once a year but it's good to see them," said Jay Pryor.

The family says they have one of the longest running family reunions in the country.
