Free children's clinic offers expanded services

Posted: Updated:
NEW HOPE, AL (WAFF) -

The New Hope Children's Clinic now offers more free services.

The clinic opened in 2009, but up until now, only offered medical and mental health treatments. Doctors will now be able to treat children for dental and eye problems as well.

The clinic's medical director said the clinic has improved school attendance and kids' performance in the classroom.

"We already began to see an increase in attendance at school because kids were healthy and they were able to get more immediate care," said Dr. Libby Nord.

Doctors' visits are free for all children, and you do not have to live in New Hope. So far this year, clinic doctors have seen 1,300 patients.
