Huntsville, Scottsboro split local NAHSSL Swim Meet

In North Alabama High School Swim League action Thursday night,  Scottsboro took the boys and Huntsville won the girls in a SportsMed Double Dual Swim Meet at the Alabama A&M Swim Complex.  In this meet, 11 boys and 7 girls made their State Qualifying Times for the AHSAA Championship Meet in early December.

In boys action, Scottsboro upset Huntsville 49-44 and beat Madison County High School 79-1.  Huntsville boys topped the MCHS boys 82-3.   Scottsboro's Kyle Vosen won the 100 Free and 200 Individual Medley, while Scottsboro teammates Alex Herbst (500 Free), Jacob Megehee (100 Back), and Zach Reichle (100 Breast) each won their event.  For Hunstville, brothers Austin Smith (200 Free) and John Smith (100 Fly) each won their events.

In girls action, Huntsville beat Scottsboro 65-28 and Madison County High School 79-7.  Scottsboro girls topped the MCHS girls 80-6.  Huntsville was led by Ragan Weakley's wins in the 50 Free and 100 Free, while teammate Ryan Barlow won the 100 Fly and 500 Free.  Huntsville's Faith Tiller won the 100 Back, and teammate Madeline Garding won the 100 Breast.  For Scottsboro, Hannah Altonji won the 200 Individual Medley, while her teammate Kate Coleman won the 200 Free.
