BOAZ, AL (WAFF) -

Corey Elementary's Fall Festival will feature a special contribution from their students.

The elementary school's students made unique scarecrows as a way to learn about the symbols of the fall season. Educators decided that several students did not understand the role of the scarecrow as a harvest symbol, so each classroom was tasked with building their own scarecrows to learn and make real world connections.

Each class were able to pick a theme for their scarecrows, and each PTO helped them build it.

Students and parents can vote on their favorite scarecrow at Corley's Fall Festival Thursday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. as they walk down the Scarecrow Row.
