Protestors upset with Vanderbilt Medical Center cutbacks

Posted: Updated:

About two dozen protestors gathered in front of Vanderbilt University Medical Center on Wednesday as Vandy officials delivered the state of the medical center address nearby.

The protestors used the occasion to show how unhappy they are with the recent wave of worker furloughs at the hospital.

The medical center may let up to 1,500 workers go by the end of the year, and the protestors say too many workers with low pay are being asked to shoulder the burden.

Vanderbilt University is the largest employer in Nashville.
