HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Huntsville police said two people were attacked and robbed while they were attempting to sell drugs in an early Wednesday morning incident.

Officers responded to Cable Street after a report of shots fired and found a weapon by a driveway around 3:50 a.m. Police were then notified that a shooting victim had been dropped off at Huntsville Hospital by a dark vehicle.

Police said a short time later, an assault victim arrived at Huntsville Hospital and told them that he and the shooting victim had been trying to sell some drugs when they were assaulted and robbed.

Wednesday afternoon, Dr. Harry Hobbs with HPD confirmed that the shooting victim, Jeffrey Harris, had died.

No one has been arrested yet. This investigation is ongoing.
