A former Tuscaloosa narcotics officer accused of embezzling money will learn his fate later this year.
Jeff Snyder was set to appear in federal court today to plead guilty to theft charges but the hearing has now been rescheduled for Dec. 5.
Federal prosecutors accuse Snyder of stealing more $125,000 from the West Alabama Narcotics Task Force.
He commanded the Tuscaloosa-based unit for nearly a decade before retiring last year.
Snyder and prosecutors cut a deal that would force him to spend 18 months in prison.
A judge still has to approve the deal.
