A carnival worker was charged in a sex crime. The Cullman County Sheriff's Department arrested 28-year-old Christopher Lee Hart, of Michigan, on rape and sodomy charges.

According to court documents, Hart met a 15-year-old girl at the Cullman County Fair on Sept. 20. Investigators said the two exchanged phone numbers after flirting.

Two met up after the fair closed, according to the complaint, and went on a walk in Sportsman's Lake Park. That's when investigators said Hart engaged in sexual acts with the teen.

After the girl got home, her she received a text from Hart and her father saw the message. After questioning her about it, she told him about her encounter with the carny. Her parents called investigators who arrested Hart on Sept. 21.

Hart was booked into the Cullman County Detention Center after being charged with second degree sodomy and second degree rape. His bond was set at $60,000.
