HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

The University of Alabama Huntsville campus was alive with color and multicultural spirit Saturday.

Hundreds flocked to indulge in food and fun at the fourth annual International Festival of North Alabama, an exposition highlighting language, customs and tastes from all across the globe.

A Parade of Nations kicked off the day-long event, which featured live performances and food from each country.

Organizers said UA Huntsville is the perfect place to hold the event, since the school is becoming more diverse with each passing year.

"The festival is all about the celebration of different cultures. This year, we have 35 countries represented, and we are so proud of the international community in Huntsville. They really showcase the diversity of our city."

Madison Mayor Troy Trulock was the special guest of honor at this year's event.
