Investigation into woman's death continues

Posted: Updated:

Good Friday evening and TGIF!

We're continuing to follow a Huntsville death investigation of 71-year old Emma Jean Carter. WAFF 48's Shumuriel Ratliff spoke to one of Carter's friends after Carter's body was found in her backyard Thursday afternoon. She had just been reported missing by her family Thursday morning. Huntsville Police still aren't saying how Carter died, but they are treating this as a death investigation.

We're also following a story we broke for you on waff.com. A Colbert County jury has handed down a 2-count murder indictment against a man accused of killing his former wife. Investigators say Homajean "Lee" Grisham stabbed Jessica Broadfoot to death this past summer. Grisham is set to be arraigned November 13th.

And we'll have a complete recap of week number five of the Alabama High School football season with another exciting edition of Friday Night Fever. WAFF 48 Sports Director Scott Theisen and crew will have highlights and scores from across the Valley.

We hope you'll join us tonight on WAFF 48 News at 10.
