Woman arrested in gas station stabbing

DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -

Decatur police arrested a woman on two counts of assault after a fight and stabbing at a gas station.

Officers responded to the Chevron gas station on the corner of 14th Street SW and Central Parkway just before 2 a.m. Friday. They found two men, Christopher Hughes and Douglas Dyar Jr., who had been stabbed.

The two men and several other people were involved in a fight in the parking lot, according to investigators. During the fight, 18-year-old Kayla Scott stabbed Hughes and Dyar with a pocketknife.

Both men were treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released from the hospital.

Scott was arrested and charged with two counts of second degree assault. Her bond was set at $5,000.
