TALLADEGA, AL (WBRC) -

Talladega County is now the latest member of the Yellow Dot Program.

The program encourages motorists to keep medical information in their car's glove compartment for paramedics to use in case of an accident.

The yellow dot on the rear window indicates medical information is in the car.

The folder would include photos of people who might be in the car and pertinent information in case that person can't communicate.

"We're excited to participate in this, because we feel this program does save lives. We think it's something that we can offer the citizens that is free," Talladega County Sheriff Jimmy Kilgore said.

Talladega's Yellow Dot kickoff was held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Sheriff's Office Investigative Division on West South Street.
