Posted: Updated:

Deputies arrested a Muscle Shoals woman after they said her toddler was found wandering the neighborhood.

On July 23rd, deputies responded to Florida Avenue in Muscles Shoals. Authorities said they found a 15-month-old boy walking the streets. Deputies said the toddler appeared to be extremely dehydrated, had bruising on his feet and legs, and suffered from a severe diaper rash.

According to the Colbert County Sheriff's Office, the mother, 31-year-old Amy Leigh Gladden, was found on the front porch of her home, passed out due to overmedication of prescription drugs.

Deputies contacted DHR and arrangements were made for the child to be cared for.

Authorities arrested Gladden on Sept. 19th and charged her with willful abuse of a child under 18-years-old. Her bond was set at $15,000.
