Two tractor trailers were involved in a wreck on I-65 just north of the Alabama state line in Giles County on Tuesday.

Tennessee state troopers were called to the scene of the crash around 2 a.m. Troopers said two tractor trailers collided in the northbound lanes around 1:30 a.m. The first truck reportedly ran into the back of the second truck at a weigh station.

The driver of the first truck and his wife are in serious condition at Huntsville Hospital. Crews were forced to pull one of the victims out of the cab. The driver of the second truck is fine, but his truck suffered major damage and caused his load of pineapples to spill all over the highway.

The wreck shut down all northbound lanes for an hour and a half. One lane reopened at 3:30 a.m. All southbound lanes of I-65 are open.
