Police respond to shooting in NW Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Huntsville police responded to a shooting in northwest Huntsville Friday night.

Officers said James Moody, 23, exited his home on the 3500 block of Avondale Road around 10 p.m. Police reported that while Moody was in the front yard, an unknown assailant hidden in the back yard shot the victim in the neck and fled.

The victim was transported to Huntsville Hospital. Police said he suffered life-threatening injuries.

No suspects have been identified at this time. This investigation is ongoing.
