Inmates evacuated in Giles County jail fire

A small fire broke out overnight Friday inside the Giles County Jail in Pulaski, Tennessee. The fire started in a booking room cell around 4 a.m.

Officers evacuated several inmates. When firefighters arrived, correction officers had put the fire out.

An inmate and an officer were checked out at the emergency room as a precaution.

Operations at the jail are back to normal.
