Family says DC shooter confronted them in Norfolk airport

Posted: Updated:

Curly and Larsenia Steele from Birmingham, Alabama say they were shocked when they saw Aaron Alexis's picture on the news.

The Steeles say Alexis confronted their family at the Norfolk International Airport on August 4.

It started when they were laughing and kidding around with each another, and Alexis started taking things the wrong way.

"Then he just walked on around, and said hey that lady laughing at me? I was like man we ain't thinking about you, you need to go over there and sit down," said Michael Boyd, a relative of the Steeles.

The family told airport security, who told Alexis to calm down.

Three days later, Alexis reported the family to authorities.
