Closing arguments expected Friday in Burgess murder trial

GUNTERSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

The defense has rested and closing arguments are expected Friday morning in the Wesley Burgess murder trial.

Burgess is accused of killing Claysville business owner Ricky Moody in 2009.

Moody was found beaten and stabbed inside his business, Motors and Cash. He died of 30 stab wounds, including a cut to his throat and multiple blunt force trauma.

The case went cold for more than a year before Burgess was arrested and charged.
