Kitchen Cops: 5 low performers


The Furniture Factory Bar and Grill in Huntsville scored an 81 with the Madison County Health Department. The health inspector reported there was cooked chicken stored without date marks to indicate when it had been cooked and when, if not used, the chicken would need to be tossed out. The inspector also took off points because the ice machine was not clean.

The Wendy's on Highway 431 in Albertville scored an 84. The health inspector reported raw beef was held between 48 and 55 degrees, above the maximum 41 degree temperature required to prevent bacterial growth in cold-holding foods.

The Wendy's in Boaz scored an 83. The inspector reported raw beef and cheese were held seven to eleven degrees too warm. And the Wendy's was docked points for unlabeled cleaner bottles.

The Shell in the 900 block of 6th Avenue in Decatur remains on the Morgan County Health Department's reinspection schedule after scoring an 83. They scored an 82 during their previous inspection. The health inspector reported the drink diffusers that mix water and syrup for soda drinks needed cleaned.

The Lakeside Food Mart on Jordan Lane in Huntsville scored an 83. The inspector reported a hand-washing sink could not be used because heavy stock items were stacked in front of the sink. The inspector also reported discovering Windex on a shelf near food.
