JACKSON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

It was a busy Tuesday for Jackson County sheriff's deputies and the department's narcotics unit.

Deputies received a tip about marijuana growing on some property on Jackson County Road 14 in Flat Rock.

There, deputies and narcotics agents found five pot plants – including one more than 8 feet tall.

No one has been arrested, yet, but the investigation is ongoing and arrests are anticipated.

Also Tuesday, the narcotics unit arrested two Pisgah residents for possession of marijuana. James Roberts, 21, and Marsheta Roberts, 43, were arrested after a search of two homes on County Road 83 in Pisgah uncovered marijuana that was being grown and dried.

They were taken to the Jackson County Jail and released on $500 bond.

The third bust of the day came in the Fabius coal mine where deputies arrested two Paint Rock men on drug charges.

Kyle Serge, 20, and Richard Newland, 19, were charged with possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

They were booked into the Jackson County Jail and then released on $1,000 bond.
