Parole denied for man convicted of dismembering murder victim

MONTGOMERY, AL (WAFF) -

A Shoals murder accomplice will spend the remainder of his sentence behind bars.

Matthew Fox went before the state's parole board Wednesday morning where his parole request was denied.

Investigators said Ronald Weems strangled Amanda Taylor and three of his friends, one being Fox, helped dispose of her body. Earlier this year Fox pleaded guilty to hindering prosecution and abuse of a corpse. He received a 10-year sentence in exchange for testimony against Weems. Fox testified he helped dismember and dump Taylor's body.

Taylor's family traveled to Montgomery for the hearing. They were not available for comment, but they have been active on social media expressing their happiness with the board's decision.

Matthew Fox will not be up for parole again. He will serve out the remainder of his sentence, which ends in October 2015.
