Man charged in Decatur murder back in court

DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -

A man charged with a Decatur murder faced a judge Tuesday in connection with a separate case.

Ryan Caudle is one of three men charged with killing Jamie Travers in June.

Tuesday's arraignment was on charges of cocaine possession, driving with a revoked license and driving with switched tags. Caudle pleaded not guilty.

According to investigators, Travers was shot in the back with a shotgun as he tried to escape a home on Mitchell Pines Trail SE during a home invasion June 18. He collapsed on U.S. 31 where he was found by a motorist.

Police said Caudle fled to Detroit before he was developed as a suspect. He was taken into custody there without incident.
