FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) - A Florence woman has been arrested in connection with a 10-year-old cold case.
Wendi Leann Hooper Stanford, 30, was arrested Monday night on a felony murder warrant in connection with a case involving the death of her 2-month-old son in Pennsylvania.
In 2003, a forensic pathologist ruled that the baby died from blunt force trauma to the head.
Stanford was charged with homicide and endangering the welfare of a child.
Investigators from Allentown, PA, and the Lehigh County District Attorney's office traveled to Florence with the warrants.
Florence police took Stanford into custody on Monday night. She is being held in the Lauderdale County Detention Center pending extradition.
Allentown police and Lehigh County DA's office are investigating this case in cooperation with Florence police.
