Trial date set for former pastor accused of killing wife

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

On Monday, a judge set a trial date for a former pastor accused of killing his wife.

Terry Greer is scheduled to go on trial April 14th. Greer will be examined by his own mental health expert and the state's expert, before a judge will consider bond.

Police said in January, Greer shot and killed his wife, and wounded his daughter in their Gardendale home.

Greer had previously pastored churches in Decatur and Huntsville.

    Per Madison County government:  Beginning at 8:00 AM on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, Madison County will make system improvements in the northeast portion of the distribution system. These improvements require a temporary water outage for some of our customers and the work is scheduled for completion by 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.  The customers on the following roads will be affected: Cherry Tree Road; Poplar Ridge Road; Keel Hollow Road; Keel Drive and Wrightington Road....
