ATHENS, AL (WAFF) - An Athens man was indicted for attempted murder after allegedly firing a shotgun to chase people from his home.
Police said Willie Mack Turner, 52, allegedly fired the shotgun while "chasing acquaintances" from his Plato Street home before dawn one day in March.
No one was injured but a car was allegedly damaged.
After questioning, Turner was charged with reckless endangerment for firing the shotgun and criminal mischief for causing more than $2,500 in damage to the car.
The grand jury, however, returned indictments for two counts of attempted murder and one count of criminal mischief. He was arrested last Saturday and is in the Limestone County Jail with a $42,500 bond.
