PRICEVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

The all-clear sirens sounded in Priceville late Wednesday night following a natural gas leak.

Wheeler Basin Natural Gas Company said a natural gas line on Highway 67 was cut by a contractor Wednesday evening while trying to install utility poles.

Emergency personnel redirected traffic for several hours while work on the gas line continued.

Crews clamped the line around 9:30 p.m. Residents within a 1-mile radius of the Wavaho gas station on Highway 67, who were told to stay indoors while the natural gas escaped earlier in the evening, were given the all-clear sirens shortly after the line was clamped.
