GUNTERSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A crashed airplane was pulled from Lake Guntersville Tuesday, two days after it crash-landed.

The small plane crashed about 100 yards from the Guntersville airport runway and landed in a marshy area.

The two people on board the Piper Lance originating from Gadsden were not injured. The pilot said the plane lost an engine and he attempted an emergency landing at Guntersville, but crashed.

Both the pilot and his passenger suffered only minor bumps and scratches.

Precision Towing and Recovery of Scottsboro and an Atlanta-based company handled the recovery.
