GRANT, AL (WAFF) -

Emergency workers rushed a Marshall County man to the hospital after he fell 80 feet over a bluff.

It happened while the 62-year-old man cut his grass this weekend behind his home on Ayers Circle in Grant.

The man's son said his father hit a dip in the yard, causing him to lose control. Rescue crews said the man stayed in the seat of the zero turn mower when he landed and was talking when they got to him.

"Mainly he was trying to help us get him out. That was his main concern was getting out," said Raymond James with the Grant Fire Department. "He wasn't too concerned with his injuries. We did get him mobilized on a board and in a stokes basket and ready to come out."

The unidentified man was flown to Huntsville Hospital. His son expects him to be there a couple more days.
